Acadia Divinity College (ADC) welcomes women and men from all church backgrounds to study in an innovative and warmly evangelical community. Our mission is to equip Christian leaders for diverse ministries, and we currently have students registered from over 20 denominations, and from over 20 countries. We offer degrees accredited and awarded by Acadia University, including Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Arts (MA), and Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degrees. Our graduate programs are additionally accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.
Our quality is assured through our accreditation through Acadia University for which we serve as the Faculty of Theology, and through the Association of Theological Schools. Our management structures include a Board of Trustees, Senate, Faculty, Curriculum Committee, and Admissions Committee, who under the leadership of the President (Dean of Theology of Acadia University), Academic Dean, and Dean of Students, oversee educational effectiveness, initiate and monitor curricular developments, and oversee the identification and assess fulfilment of learning outcomes. Student participation is sought throughout, and students are canvassed for feedback in every course.
ADC offers a high level of financial support for students through low tuition fees and scholarship and bursary support. All students are eligible for financial assistance on application. Virtually all students receive some form of financial support during their ADC experience.
Over the past three years, 61 students, both full-time and part-time, have graduated with a graduate degree (i.e., MDiv, MA, DMin). The average time of completion of Master’s level students is 3-4 years; and 5-6 years for the Doctor of Ministry degree.
95% of graduates over the past three years are in some form of work, study or other occupation, the vast majority in pastoral ministry, but several also in parachurch and social ministries. 20% of these graduates have gone on to undertake further study, many at PhD level.
We are committed to regular assessment and review of these and other quality indicators to ensure that our programs are characterised by academic and practical excellence.
